Am I foolish to give up a high paying local job and move to Portland?

Some people are just the adventurous types who don't want to live in the same place their entire lives.

 

Oregon is a great place to live. You have everything here. Yeah it rains a lot but no matter where you go there are weather issues. I've lived in WA, OR, Alaska, KY and CA. Not to mention extended training in OK and TX. Portland is a great area and there are a lot of opportunities here.

 

And those people will never own a home. Retirement needs to be in the back of your mind the moment you start working. If not, you'll be 67 years old, homeless, and have no way to work yourself out of it.

 

lmao. what does this have to do with the question about moving and finding a job in portland? Too many story tellers on here. Drive by me and ill throw my gum out the window when you pass. hahaha. kidding but thats a funny thought.

 

Owning a house isn't the be-all and end-all of existence you know. It's simply one more choice you have to make.

 

I didn't know that if you moved somewhere that you automatically became homeless and would be forever in debt.

 

This one time at band camp I saw a lizard and a male buffalo servicing a bear while pulling a double nickel at my back door.

Yeah it rains here but we have nice Summers despite what most think.

I'd say it's been pretty nice around here,been riding my Harley to work every day.
