That's what kills me about this entire process...I see a dozen threads on every site I go to about someone having a felony and still getting a second chance somewhere. I don't have any felonies at all, and two of my charges are almost 20 years old...
...and the sense of humor comes standard equipment, with a life like this I have no choice! *laughs*
Well, shucks...?

Its sad, really. And unfair, in my opinion. Oh well. That's why you gotta keep laughing!
Krazy Scott Thanks this. -
So where do you sugest us ex felons work? I did my time . You never made a mistake or were you just lucky enough not to get caught. Yes I know ill probably hear a lot of crap for saying that but yea I think I should have a chance at a decent job. Truck drivers have always been known for being unconformanest. Untill the government really stepped in with all the regulations ya all did pretty much as you pleased. Log book equals comic book I belive. And if ya can figure out how to get around the new regs it will still be electronic or not. That is a criminal act is it not so don't judge everyone I know the world would be a better place.

And THAT is the reason why I have no felonies...call it luck or just being fast on my feet, there were times....back in the day...you know.
Anyway, in the end I got a local job to save money for a decent school and work on getting my record expunged in the interim...one of my charges was a 'first offender' plea that should have already been expunged but wasn't, so I thank whoever suggested that I look into that because you certainly put me on a better path.
In the end, I just couldn't bring myself to trust the one driver mill that would take me, their success rate was crap, their methods questionable, and I'm just not prepared to trust them with my future under those circumstances...it's too easy to work hard and save up a couple grand to get you into the door of a good school, so that's what I decided to do.
Thanks to everyone for their awesome input on this thread...you rock, and I learned a lot from all of you. -
Good luck on the school and remember to look into the hours their, most companies want over a certian amount. Before you start school make sure you call around again for companies that will higher you.
And stick around the forum

That's mainly due to insurance. Could you imagine the lawsuit a company would face if you relapse out on the road, kill a family of 3, and then your past drug convictions are discovered by the grieving family.
I'm not saying that you would relapse, but driving a truck can bring out stresses that nobody saw coming, and old habits could come back.Arizona..Fats Thanks this.
