Well I went with a different company the trainer at Garner was just a ### I asked for a different trainer but found a better place the trainer treated me like a dog he was a very odd person they said they had lots of complaints but really didn't believe it since he was a top driver. I now drive bulk tanker for Precision bulk.

 

Would they have gotten you a different trainer if you had stayed? I can't figure out a company keeping a driver in a training position if they have repeated complaints from trainees. Maybe Garner should just let him be a "top driver" and kick him off of training, seems like an appropriate resolution. If I do go with Garner I'll send you a message to get his name and will go somewhere else if he's my only option. I don't need to put up with a nonstop ### when I'm trying to learn something new and won't. It sounds like the Staff at Garner need to tell him everyone needs to learn and no one's perfect including him. They do sound like a good company if you can get through training. Obviously you made it through orientation, does Garner force per diem on drivers?

Thanks for the reply GDT. I like the sound of you getting to WI every week. Is it forced per diem at Garner? How many female students have you trained so far? I know you said you only take females.

 

Yes they would have put me with another trainer but I had cuts on my toes and feet from the first trainer saying no duffle bags on the floor of his truck then he throwed it up in the top of the bunk with me and cut some of my toes and feet I was pretty pissed. But I did call Scott at Garner and he routed us back to base and he said in a week or so he could put me with another trainer. All in all I think Garner is a great company to drive for I just had a bad taste in my mouth from the first trainer. I should have stuck it out with another trainer but I was offered another job with a bulk tanker company and I knew the trainer so I just went there. I would like to work for Garner in the future as they are local and the staff was great accept my trainer lol.

 

Can you give any more info like pay. benefits. avg miles per week?
