    I'm interested in this additional test. What kind of work do they make you do during the test? And for how long? 167 bpm isn't much. I just rode my bike 8 miles, and averaged 167, with a max at 182. And I'm not in bad shape. Took me 30 minutes, but there were some hills

    So what, exactly, is a "bottom feeder" company. I have to tell you I've worked for companies that are much much worse than Schneider. They treat me very well here.

    If the OP had done his homework like he claims he would know that Schneider requires all applicants to pass a PWS. It's right there on their website.

    He didn't pass and they still offer a trucking job? Well then, had nothing to do with his heart test, more about, We have regional, or dedicated home on weekends come on down, then you end up OTR and may get ya home 1 time a month, just like they (still )are doing. They have to do that to survive maybe have you ever typed in schneider lawsuits, good grief at the milions they have to shuck out everytime one of their drivers hurt someone. 36 million last year Id hate to know schneiders insurance rates :biggrin_25524:

    I agree with you 100%. If the driver failed the test then why was he offered a different job doing the same thing (driving a truck)? It's a clear cut case of the old bait and switch that these companies are famous for because they can't find many drivers willing to work for peanuts.

    Every time I've been granted an interview with a company that required frequent travel, and / or that was not based where I actually lived, I was either provided transportation and lodging, or was reimbursed for same. One company flew me to Denver and conducted the interview in the airport. Another paid for my rental car and 3 days' hotel stay in Richmond, VA. Another paid for my flight, rental car and hotel in Austin, TX.

    The reason that trucking companies don't do this like the rest of the corporate world is that drivers accept that type of treatment. Drivers should insist on prospective employers covering the costs of their interview and pre-employment testing. Trust me, they can afford it, and it is a legitimate cost of doing business.

    I believe that the requirements for van vs bulk are different. That may be why he was offered a position as a van driver after failing the test for bulk. I do know that bulk does things on their PWS that van does not do.
