If drivers were as accurate and productive as the planners tend to be Roehl would be out of business by the end of the month. Why can't drivers know what their next load will be along with all the needed info long before the current job they are on is done? This would increase productivity and cut out all miles driven in the wrong direction when exiting a consignee because you had to guess which way to go as a result of not having said info in hand before you we're empty.

The situation you described also needlessly ate up time on your log book with the PTI's, unload/load and drive time from 80 to roetg and back.

Our log books are tied to our wallets. When companies eat up our time like this and with routing to avoid tolls it is stealing $$$ from drivers and many times putting it in their own pocket. Planner mistakes like this and treating followup load's info like they are State secrets used to infuriate me. Not anymore. I quit this week!

    Bayle and Treefork Thank this.

I agree on the preplan stuff. I also dislike getting pp that say 0 mt miles and not knowing if its the same place, should I get an mt, or picking up preload. That and many times you're dealing with the gate guard, and then could get all the info instead of having to go back, with proper numbers, then go back into the yard to get loaded trailer.

Got to meet coopnp at shipper & here (scale) - both going to Pacific MO. He still had hours and could escape...I'm trapped like a rat with a few minutes left on my 70.

I call my FM when this happens to find out, it has saved me the hassle of hooking to an MT a couple times.

not that I get a PP before im MT and waiting much these days, about 98% no PP b4 MT and 70% live load/unload or both :/

in my homestate for the night

TA exit 3 I95 Greenland, NH :) deliver a 2 stop HON load in the AM, got OK to show early...both stops...same place...must be a warehouse/delivery operation or something

You're lucky then if your fm answers the phone. I'm actually thinking of changing my voicemail message to. I'm sorry all drivers are busy right now, leave a message, and I'll get back to you at my convenience, which most likely means never.

I've gotten two pp's before I was mt this week. I love that. If they would keep doing that I'd be very happy, but that's with my regular FM. Weekend dispatch won't do that. Since sitting the 17 hours I've had great mileage. Shut down at the cons tonight with a HON load to drop in Owings Mills, MD, then a pp from Baltimore to Chicago for Friday.

You make it very hard not to post an appropriately snide remark. Heh Heh
