I'm guessing you don't haul many oversize loads greedy boy :biggrin_25522:

My load turned out to be a couple of Deeres. Easy chain down. It's just a bit tall.

I move lots of oversize loads, first off legal loads going in pay well over $3/mi your wide and tall so I'd really like to know what you ended up getting I can't bet you'll never do it again....

If your going to the NW, it'll be fairly easy compared to the opposite direction. but I thought if your over 14 your going to need to follow the permit routing?

I'd be heading north myself, them combine haulers got a path well beat down heading over to Clear Lake and beyond.

He posted a pic, not wide just tall. I know what they pay to take them up there, you never heard of me taking one up there did you?

I just went and looked at the pic, its not wide. No axle's sticking out, that would be the only thing on a Deere to put you over width. He is over height though, but only in MN and IA.

14'3" height. I have permits coming for all states. If the tractors were perfectly centered, I would be under 102" wide. I need to keep a closer eye on the guy loading next time.

I would have made them reload it, and kept the permit money in my pocket. When you haul oversized only order permits for what you have to have to get moving, that way if something like this that comes up would actually be a legal load Mercer will put the unused permit money onto the truck pay. No sense in giving it to a state if you could have it instead.

On Deere loads, they buy the permits. So the trucker doesn't benefit from not ordering the permits. I know what my rate to the NW is & that I don't get loads going there...so best of luck with the trip.

That they do. I ordered my own but they always reimbursed me for them.
