Victorville, CA. Thought about going to the terminal, but figured by the time that I got there, might be a pita finding a parking place. Today pu at Sherwin Williams in Reno, HAZ-MAT. Now get this, they hand me my bills and ask about what placards that I need. they tell me, figure out what you have then call your dispatch and ask them. I kindly told the girl at the window, it is not my job, but your to make sure that I have the right placards. Well, she got the OPS MGR, and he told me to go to my truck and get out my calculator and figure it out. Told him also, sir, it is not my job. You, as the shipper, that is yours. Well he figured it out, and said either Flamable or Dangerous. I was not going to argue and just went and called Safety and let them know what was going on.

beer distributor tool about an hour to unload me. then went to usk wa to pick up the loaded trailer and left with 4:45 left on my fourteen to drive. my fuel stop was 244 miles in stanfeild or. so looks like i'm good to get there as long as i hustle. scalehouse on i-82 just north of i-84 was opened and took me 6 minutes to get thru and it made me a mile and half short of getting there. so i ended up stopping at some travel center 7 miles from pilot. ####, could've used a shower too.lol

    UT, I-15 x188 at the J.
Don't recall the name of the town.

My MiFi died last night. One minute it was working fine, the next it was toast.
So I stopped at the TA in Vegas and replaced it with the newer 4G JetPack.
It is so much better, in many respects.
One nice thing is that it can be accessed via the browser to adjust settings. Things like how many devices are allowed to connect, the channel used by the Wi-Fi, whether plugging the USB cable into the computer connects it via LAN or simply charges the battery, etc.
The screen display is a very nice feature, too.
And 4G speed is a nice step up from 3G.

    Well worth the $50 upgrade.

for me depends on the mountains, load im hauling and weight etc, coming up here to Washington I took most mountains 25-45 going up the steep ones and going down I did 45-60 depending on the grade and distance of the grade, when it wasnt a grade I went the full 62 when i could.

and yeah its hard having a family, if I would of chose this well before ever getting married and having kids I would be pretty well off :p
My youngest is 8 months so im missing all her milestones too.

Maybe it's time to start checking on those local jobs.

I could never be OTR if I had a family.

Well, I have family and kids. But we are all split up now. This job let's me take home time where I need to, to see them more often than I could otherwise.
But if I were still married and living with everyone, it would not be worth it out here.

yeah your kids are grown so its a little different situation and yeah being able to drive around the country makes it better when your kids are split up.

I am looking up stuff for local, only thing I worry about is the accident I had since they might not like seeing that, I know whatever happens I plan to return to OTR down the road and until I find that local opportunity im not giving up, got a family to support.

I know how the family thing is. I have a wife and a 4 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. What sucks is come Christmas I will be home for. But miss my daughters birthday on January 9th. But we are going to have her party as soon as I get home. At this point it is play catch up so we have a home to go to.
