Honestly, I can break it off in ya for Grade 100, WLL: 15000 and Proof tested WITH CHARTS to 30K. Thats lifting chain...kind over kill for tie down I think. But hey, up to you. Really , Domestic chain offered from another driver...with "43" stamped on the links..which means 9200 WLL.. to DOT on the road with High test hooks to match the chain rating. I can quote Grade 70 and anything else you need.
1/2" x 20' GRADE 43 DOMESTIC CHAIN WITH H-330 CROSBY HOOKS, WLL: 9200 LBS...45.00 PER

When you have an 83,000 lb excavator on its nice to have big chain, that way you don't have 7-8 chains on the load but 1 each corner of tracks a3/8 going across bucket and to get your aggregate figure a 3/8 in the back. , I knew a guy that broke g 100 chains hauling a D10. He was at a light , turned green started across intersection, guy cut him off, locked it up snapped chains.. How fast was he going? Less than 5 mph. And yes grade 100 and 80 are also lifting chain if certified.

Honestly I felt kind of ripped off. I was in a bind and needed them right now, but I have hauled many many loads with them and they have paid off. Reason I bought them is I was at a CO scale house with a 130,000 lb mud pump on two trucks and they didn't like my chains as the markings were wore off. They were grade 70 but the wouldn't give me full rating on them. The only place within a hundred miles that had 1/2 inch chain built lifting slings and knew I was in a bind and stuck it to me I feel. The other day I called around to get another couple so I could have ten and was quoted 90 to 120 a foot on grade 100 it's a little steep for me to stomach anymore. Can you PM me a quote on grade 70 20 footers and also grade 100. I'm in south Texas a lot Houston mostly so I would be interested.

125 each that's a hell of a deal. As I said before I was in a bind and these were prebuilt certified lifting chains with the metal tags. They were 2,000 each for twenty footers so all in it was 16,000. They have been really good chains and I am glad I kept them when I sold my big trailer.

know exactly where you came from there. I had an OD load on 90 in Washington.. You can't go in snow.. I had a set of 3 rails, two sets of singles.. No not enough.. Just in case one breaks. The parking lot was a solid ice cube. So I had to have a mechanic bring out a set.. Something like 350 for a set of singles. Alot of this is what I call revenue enhancement. Need a little extra to balance at budget? Nail a trucker, need brownie points for the month. Truckers have lots of money. I bet that scale guy got a little kick back from that bend over billy sale. A few years ago at the truckee scales, on 80 in California, they were caught backing off brakes, and were getting kick back from the mechanic trucks in back. Funny thing ... On calif state property you can't solicite.. You have to be called by the customer.. Except at this scale. I heard the Feds came in with a truck and caught them.. That was about 1991-92 someplace back then. If you want to see their jaw hit the floor... Start dragging out more chains.there went that kick back. Nice thing about 1/2 chain is nobody wants to steal it.. To heavy, and the heavy guys know what a good set of chains are for.

Yea I was definitely a pissed off unit. But back then we were rig moving and times were good making 300,000 to 900,000 a month so I didn't think too much about it. Best thing I ever did tho was sell a fleet of rig moving trucks and cranes and big trailers. I like my life now just pulling a3 axle stretch and running about 12 trucks. Your right about not having 1/2 inches stolen I've parked in some crappy places and they've never walked off.

A good friend of mine was moving rigs.. He got paid when the moving company was paid. At one time he had about 35,000 in outstanding income. I told him yeah you go to bankruptcy court and tell the judge, I'm broke, but I have 35,000 in pay due. Kind of makes one think about it. At times you did fairly well and then there was that carrot on the stick. Your in rock springs?
