still waiting for a load out of here, they sent a load offering while I was asleep and the qc was shutdown, I got woken up by a new message and it was the "removal bla bla" and I would of took the load, was a 17k rubber load going to Montana, they then send a load offering that picked up tonight at 21:00 and had 2 stops in the morning for fred meyers, turned it down and said I dont want graveyard and want something earlier. Maybe I pissed them off since they stopped sending offers but I dont like driving in the middle of the night, fooks everything up from sleep, to parking etc, plus all the friendly critters are out who like to play chicken with trucks lol

 

wolfy...talk to matt and have him set up where preplans are also text to your phone. don"t know if it will wake you up. also makes it nice where you don't have to keep going to truck.

 

sitting at a reststop a mile from us93 turnoff from i-84. during my pretrip this morning, noticed trailer door not properly closed on top. has a gap and i see clouds in the distance. so called in to see if i can break seal to close it. have rolls of paper and don't need it to get wet. guy said he has to call customer service, so waiting now to get the go ahead. don't know why but i always recheck to see that doors are closed. lesson learned

 

it does send text to my phone but sometimes when im asleep I dont hear it, guess I should find an obnoxious tone to use thats loud.
Right after I posted they sent me a preplan asking if I could go save a trailer someone abandoned that someone was threatening to get towed, it was 30miles from where I was up some mountain road parked in rocks and dirt, I was spinning tires just trying to back up to it. They sent a message they processed $45 to do it so not bad, I then drove 30 miles out of the way south on I5 to park at a rest stop, i knew I couldnt get back to the loves I was bobtailed at since it was super packed with people double parked waiting for a spot. Lets see if they get me a load before its dark since I dont like driving at night anymore.

I would go save abandoned trailers all day for that kind of pay if there were plenty of them lol

 

Sry if this is a repost. Anyhow they just issued me a 2014 volvo. I was curious if anyone knew how to cancel idle shutoff. It starts beeping I hit clutch or gas and it stops it for another 5 mins then things starts beeping again. It's getting annoying its a 100 degrees out. Thks

 

Yuma, AZ. Did mac 30 about 3 times this morning and would not bite. They were beer loads going to El Paso for Saturday. Not going anywhere near that terminal on a Saturday. Within 5 mins of my mt call, pplan, pu 15 miles away, 15K, going to Houston for Monday morning. Jumped on it, and then had a first, a thank you from the planner for accepting so quick and asking if I could get there within 1 hour because they close at 1300. Said sure. Got there and the owner comes out to talk to me, and also says thanks. They actually do not close until 1500 but he was going on vacation at 1300 and he wanted to make sure that I did get there. Not too happy with Swift. This load was supposed to pu yesterday. He was also happy that I was taking it all the way. He has had a few that have been t-called and then all of a sudden, not delivered on time for some reason. It is such a good feeling when you are thanked.

Then I receive a message, I am now on the load board. Mystic, I have some questions. PM me.

 

I noticed it seems Swift has been unorganized with loads lately, dont know if its because they are swamped with freight in areas or just idiots doing the planning, im betting a little of both!
Right now im still waiting for a load, if they dont give me one soon then im setting my pta for the morning since im not going to take a midnight run being awake all day with no sleep. I wish I could use that mac 30, would be nice if they offered it to some of the company drivers, at least us who are 100% on time etc. I am surprised to hear how many get service failures, I have not received even one, only been late a couple times due to accidents or shippers taking way too long but I always do my 22 hours ahead of time.

Annoying they can offer a load I really like and remove it quickly if I dont respond but if I get a load I dont want and ignore it they dont remove it for several hours, I would of loved to get that rubber load this morning, little over 800 miles delivering tomorrow evening and only 17k lbs, seems most of the loads around Washington are really heavy.

yeah sometimes they are retarded, I remember one night I was at a Walmart DC waiting to get unloaded and it was 20:00, they sent me a preplan picking up in Ontario delivering at the same place at 23:30, each way with good traffic was about 4 hours, I replied denying the load stating I didnt have Star trek teleporting powers, they replied back saying sorry the system automatically gave it to me...
then yesterday I was delivering in Tacoma, WA and when I got to the quaker I had 1:47 left on my 70 and didnt even drop the trailer yet, they sent a preplan picking up 30 miles down the road or so, was a live load as well. I denied it saying there is no way I can drop the current load, drive there in the traffic, get live loaded and find a place to do a 10 all in a little over a hour left of time. I saw the loves packed down the road so I bobtailed out and took one of 2 last spots available, I wouldnt of even been able to park if I had a trailer.

 

took them 2 hrs to give me the ok to break the seal. a little spit of water on windsheild for all the hassle . made it to flying j in wells nv. nice to get a shower and shave. get up at 0500 tomorrow and run 574 mile into hesperia for fuel stop. then run the rest of the way into san diego. not sure if i want to stay at the otay mesa terminal or the pilot. not many places to stop that i can find.gonna stop in adelanto and get my mail since its been over a month now.
