Wow thanks for those directions. A cattle hauler was telling me about a plant in Omaha a few months ago when I was at the shop. I thought he was crazy. So I guess there is one there after all. Where did you head with that load from Omaha? I've been running some pretty good miles these past few weeks. Not sure if its the new dispatcher or not. My dispatcher got sick on fleet 9 and they put me on fleet 24. Most loads are in the 900 plus mile range. Hope the runs continue after this home time. These new 34hr reset rules are kicking my tail. Had to run recap all this week. Got home last night 1:45am. So I'm sure I won't have a reset until Sunday at 5am. Hoping to get a load tomorrow though. Good hours coming off so no need for a reset at this present time. Keep the Shiny side up.

Followed your directions on google maps and seen the street view. That's XL beef. That Canadian company they took over and wanted to know if drivers would go up to Canada. They have a few plants in the states. Yeah from Google maps. It does look small.

Went to W. Chicago with it. Lately I have been running CO to TX and back but get sidetracked once in a while. Good miles for me lately too.

Hey Fellars and the ladies,
Im less than one week away from Graduating Roadmasters out of Indianapolis, Indiana. I have been accepted by JBS assuming i get my CDL. I have been a parts driver before this for JX Peterbilt and thats really what pushed me to go to school. I know a lot of independent companies and owner operators who all referred me to do so as well. I have read a few of these threads on JBS and im really looking forward to getting out there and making some money. I will be an otr driver, but would like to move into the regional driver position if and when one becomes available. I appreciate reading through these threads as it has given me a little insight on what to expect. I only hope to be an asset to the company and will try my best not to make anything hard for my trainer to be. Id like to knock out the 6 weeks and get my solo run going, but being new to the industry im sure i will have my hands full. The evals are kind of stressing me out knowing i passed them here i dont want to show up and fail them there, and be $5k in debt or more to the company and sent home. I am looking forward to getting to meet some of you fellars and if you have any advice you would like to pass on to a greenhorn, give me a hollar. -

well ive passed all my tests and hrs here at roadmaster, went Tuesday to take my cdl test and failed on the dang parallel parking. i used too many pull ups on my offset and didnt have but 2 left on the parallel..i en-crouched twice, didnt hit any cones but my drive wheels went over once and my trailer went over once..thats 3 points plus automatic pullup is 1 point. i was soo pissed off, ive done that a hundred times it seems, but my brain just shut down. I should have just used a few more pull ups to set myself up good and took those 1 pointers, but i forced it in not thinking. now i have to pay $175 and wait a week to retest because their so packed at every test site in indy. I also had to schedule it for prosafe in ft wayne which is 4 hrs away and 4 hrs back. roadmaster hasnt helped with reschedule and getting me a test in my city so i had to do what i had to do to get a date. I went ahead and scheduled for the 7th and will then be pushed back to the 12th for orientation in Greely. this is becoming a nightmere..wish i wouldnt of quit Peterbilt and tried the weekend class thing. At least id still be making money, might have taken a few months to finish classes but 3 weeks is insane to take it all in anyways. I have everything riding on this, I know i can drive a rig and double clutch, but having to parallel man, it sucks.

When I did my CDL test there was no cones etc. Just a street and I probably was 4 feet away from the curve. My backing sucked and took a good 6 months or more to get super comfortable with backing. That will probably be the hardest thing in a truck is the backing. It is also the easiest thing to mess up your trucking career if you get into accidents. So don't be too hard on yourself. It's not as easy as it looks and takes time. Hope you do better next go round.

thanks for the support man
come monday i will be retesting i went into roadmaster today and raised hell and got a slot.
i did alot of parallel and offset practicing but still cant seem to get the perfect set up without using pull ups.
very discouraging. but i figure if its the Good lords will, i will pass monday.
keep your fingers crossedDinomite Thanks this. -
Maybe there's some parallel parking on You tube you can get some tips off of. Hope it works out for you. Will keep you in my prayers my friend.

On the parallel parking just do your best the 1st time and take your points on what out the box. Just don't hit a cone. Don't have to be perfect. Just good enough to pass. Once you pass the test you will have years to get perfect. It's all a points game. Work hard on the inspection and road test. The skills is a points game. Remember go slow, just idle back. Small slow movements in the steering. You will do great on the next test. Just don't over think it and sink yourself before hand.
