does anybody have any information on Usher Transport? Do they let you bring a truck on with a mechanical engine and do they require pumps on the trucks? I know they are pretty thorough on their DOT Inspections but not too concerned about that. just wondering if they will let you lease an 80's model truck on

As in 1980s? The oldest age of a truck that I have seen leased to a company is 10 years old, a lot require 5 or less. You might get lucky though and find others that will allow a truck that old.

Yr / engine dont matter as long as it passes THEIR inspection. They are very through. Chemical requires pump.

Where I live a lot of your flatbed and end dumps have old trucks running for them. some even from the 70's still. just when it comes to the tankers its a little harder. I can name 3 flatbed companies and several dump companies that have no age restrictions.

I happen to prefer mechanical motors and prefer to stay away from ecm motor and definitely stay away from anything with an egr or dpf filters and def fluid

does usher require product pump on truck to do fuel hauling? do they have a minimum 5th wheel height? I have talked to them a couple times on phone and those two questions slipped my mind. Ive made up my mind I am going to sign on to them at end of year maybe sooner if things don't pick up where I am at now. Just need to know how to set truck up before I show up for them to inspect the truck. I have talked to several drivers and they all seem happy there and never heard anything bad about them. also any tips on hauling fuel? Ive hauled fuel additives and transmix but that's about it. ive mostly hauled chemicals.

Dont believe 5th height is a requirement. Pumps...they prefer one, some areas it may be required. On pump loads there is additional pay. Tips? Ask tons of questions, never assume anything and triple check. Keep a notebook ,keep track of load/customer#s,tank sizes etc.
