Not all construction sites grind to a halt on Friday and nothing done until Monday. I have 3 loads delivering to sites this weekend , all 3 time sensetive as the material needs to be put in a specific spot ahead of material arriving Monday morning.
If we miss our delivery we get the back charge for forklift / crane / labour crews.
time sensitive bs

The only time CH will give good rates is if they are DESPERATE and IN TROUBLE....CH is the scum of the Industry.Next to the Mega's and there cheap drivers..

Traffic or HOS are never a reason for being late. You should know your HOS limits before you accept a load and with a very rare exception traffic isn't a reason. If you accepted a 300 mi load with only 6 hrs to deliver then it's on you. Sounds like you messed up and are looking for a way out.

I guess you never drive in the ''northeast''...Very unpredictable and all the pre planning will do nothing...

An employer does not have the right to take adverse action against an employee who refuses to violate safety regulations designed to protect him and the public, said Marthe Kent, OSHAs New England regional administrator. Such employer activity places the well-being of employees and the public at risk if it intimidates workers into violating the law.

This reminds me of the time when Hillary Clinton,Anne Farro and Ray Lahood stated they will have a ''serious talk'' with the shippers and recievers to get truckers loaded and unloaded faster.....It all sounds ''good''...
But nothing ever changes..

actually I was thinking you give yourself extra time to allow for traffic.BookingYou19 Thanks this.

A lot of freight brokers get high dollar for "just in time" deliveries that are critical. They normally wont pay any more than what is considered usual to the trucking company or trucker to get the job done unless they absolutely have to. C H= Cold 'N Hungry lol.
LTL companies operate the same way. Even the USPS has fee's for guaranteed quick time deliveries. If you want a "guaranteed one, two day, or overnight delivery time there are hefty fee's for it. Brokers love spur of the moment freight like this because they can charge extra for it..the trick is finding someone to cover it that gets the job done.landstar8891 Thanks this. -
Most construction sites here run seven days a week. They have wanted it on saturday because they scheduled it around other equipment or projects going on. I got stuck for 9 hours on a site because some jackwagon couldnt wait 15 minutes for me to pull out of the site and started setting a crane up to move some pipe and equipment in the only driveway that a semi could exit from.
FLATBED Thanks this.
