I'm slotted to attend a 160 hr.CDL training course with Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke Virginia starting this September. CRST is the company providing the training. Does anyone have any experience with this company, it's training and job placement?

You'll probably end up being contracted to CRST after you're done, if they're paying for it.

Went to school with CRST at Houston Community College in TX back in 2003. Pretty good training. It really wasn't the same as the College offered it's regular CDL students. A little shorter. But CRST paid. I drove team at CRST for a year after that to work off my obligation starting at .19 cents a mile, then boogied. I hate team. But, I am grateful that CRST gave me a start.

I'm using VA benefits to pay for most of the tuition and the rest out of pocket. Trainer told me I should have 10 to 12 companies offering jobs???

    Then why go with CRST?

Read the many threads in here !!
I've had too many co-drivers with bad CRST stories

..... How much is the training cost total?

If you are paying for it out of your OWN pocket, make sure you do NOT sign any contract with any company. If CRST is not paying for your school, then you will be able to go with whomever you want. There are multiple companies who hire out of school (as long as it is a credible school with enough hours, usually 160). And you will be paid better at other companies....

Ill give you the same advise a few o/o's gave me…RUN AND RUN FAST FROM CRST. Do your research and you will find that there are many other company's that will hire you as a recent grad and some you can still earn your va benefits while training.

There are probably at least 100 companies that will hire you right out of CDL school. If you do go with CRST, go flatbed, that will lead to better paying jobs in the future. If you don't go with CRST, look at Schneider tanker. The good money these days is tanker or flatbed, especially for solo drivers.

If you decide to go tanker, get your tanker/hazmat endorsements & TWIC. If you want runs to Canada, get a passport.

When you drove team for CRST, did you have a choice as to whom your team driver was going to be? If not, how did CRST assign team drivers? Hopefully, non-smokers were not teamed with smokers. Please advise on this.

$3,750 due on the first day of class. $5,000 if you choose to finance at 21% interest.
