split logging

    Many years ago I actually said that to a DOT cop, boy, was that a mistake, he must of been in a bad mood, made it through the inspection, LOL

    If you get delayed at a shipper for more than 2 hours (or close to 8), it is often best to log a split sleeper berth (drive 4 hours, stop 2, drive 7, stop 8, drive 4... & so on).

    Also, due to the mandated 30-minute rest break, there are many run windows in which a split sleeper results in the fastest transit time (for instance any load requiring 16-20hours of drive time will get there fastest using split sleeper.

    0-11 hours drive time: 10hour fasest
    11-16: same provided 10 taken @/before 8-hour mark
    16-20: split sleeper fastest
    20-22: 10hour fasest
    22-24: same
    24-30: split
