Weed will show up to 30 days in a urine test but up to 6 months in a hair test i believe.

from what I've seen it goes anywhere from 3 months (90 days) too 6 months. and can also get longer results if hair was taken from arm, leg. etc... but from what I've been researching its 50 or so strands from the back of your head at the base, and they test about a 1 1/2" long. I've also read that hair normally grows a 1/2" every month

Hair tests CAN go back farther but the testing companyies only attest to 90 days.

As far as I know, DOT regulations do not permit hair testing. So even if you fail a hair test, I think you just fail that drug test at the company level. I don't think you get your DAC report screwed with since you didn't fail a DOT drug test.

Your DAC report gets screwed up if you fail a hair test and the company reports to HireRight. DAC reports are run by a private company (HireRight) and has nothing to do with DOT.

I don't know the numbers regarding how many are using them but I know some of the mega carriers (Schneider, Roehl, JB Hunt) do. There's a movement by certain companies (Schneider) lobbying the DOT to implement and accept hair testing for drivers in lieu of urine testing. Problem with that is the hair test doesn't reveal the presence of alcohol and alcohol use by drivers is much more rampant and a problem than drug use among commercial drivers, according to the NTSB.

No. I will always be upfront and honest about what I have done and my opinion. Probably why I haven't been employed since 08. Being honest is a bad thing in society.

It can be.Why be honest with employers when they're not honest with you. It's unreal how much trucking companies hide from the drivers.Of course don't lie.But just don't give out any extra info and if its not on your record, you don't know anything.

    900,000-tons-of-steel Thanks this.
