saw on bol that theres no appt. times at union tribune. first come first serve. so left at 0430 to get there early. opens at 0630. 2 trucks in front of me and when place opens, those 2 had wrong day. so i was able to get to dock first. went by quickly. had no jakebrake or cruise. so called onroad and they said to go to otay mesa terminal to fix it. drove here and guy looked at fuses but can't find problem. says they are a small shop and not able to do a diagnostic test. drove off the yard and he must of done something cause both are working now. well, lights on dash go on now.

got preplanned with a high value load picking up in southgate ca and delivering in dinuba ca. have only 9 hrs left on 14, so figured with all the heavy traffic not going to drive the 200 miles without stopping. so i refused it. haven'3 heard anything else yet

No but there is a loves about 2 miles from my house I can go park it at for a day and just close my curtains looking like im sleeping. I told my DL im not really looking for hometime but just need to go by my home for a few hours to get things and he said to call him whenever I get close to home and he will work on it with me.

Anyway I wake up and drive to the shipper, there were 4 other Swift drivers for the same appointment time, we all get there to find out our loads arent ready for days, mine not until Friday so being pissed off I called the planner and said my load wont be ready for a few days and to his reply "let me guess your in longview?" So they voided the load and supposed to find me something else, he told me to park at a chevron down the way but it was packed with everyone else parking there too so I drove 12 miles down the I5 and parked at a small truck stop. Called up Matt and complained, he said he is submitting for me to get layover pay since the 19th, its not much money I think I was told its $50 a day? At least its something and will pay a bill.

That has to be a terminal policy. I take loaded trailers home with me all the time for overnighters. The only time that I can not, high dollar.

Choctaw, OK. Had a interesting morning. Went to deliver, pulled down along the side of the building and around a corner, and there are the docks. Only problem, no place to turn around, so out comes the receiver, and tells me that I need to back up around the corner and back down the road and back back up the road and blind side around the corner with cars on the corner and a chain link fence. I politely tell him that I am good but not that good and I can not get into the dock. I ask what is wrong with the docks on the front of the building and he says that he wants the empty cans in the back of the building. Tell him sorry, but I do not feel safe doing what he wants me to do. Get back to the front, call Swift and explain and they tell me that I did the right thing. If I would have been in a Volvo, then I would not have had a problem. Within 5 mins of my call, they come out and tell me to back into the dock in the front of the bldg. Swift called them and said that they would pay for the transfer from the front to the back. While I was there, watched a Classis XL back down and blind side, and caught his Texas bumper on the fence. Little damage to the fence, lots to his bumper.

Glad that I did not bite on the MAC 30 loads, caught me a nice 1140 mile ld to the Twin Cities, Wednesday afternoon. Then only 6 hours for 2 days.

In NB ... at a t/s that also appears to be a Swift drop yard. Ended my last week short on Monday with only 2k miles and started this week early on Tuesday ... racing against my 70 to get in to UT by Wednesday for 4.1K week.
