I worked for Oakley Transport out of Lake Wales, FL and still have a few friends on with them.
This guy is talking about Bruce Oakley out of AR. or Oakley Transit (leasing) out of Okeechobee, FL because Oakley Transport doesn't have Lease drivers and maybe 1-2 O/O's that have been their since before the old man died.
Oakley Transport located at 101 Abbott-Babcock Cut-off (ABC) Rd in Lake Wales, FL was a good place to work except the benefits were a bit pricey per week. But. they ran my wheels off. They would pre-plan you sometimes two (2) loads out.
I and my friends who are still there use to run mostly CA to Toronto and back again.
I ran a dedicated run my 2nd year for one year Lake Wales to Springfield, CA. and back again as fast as it was legally possible.
The 3rd year I ran Tampa, FL to Miami, FL as fast as it was legally possible, paid $125 per load plus $25 pump-off pay and took me thru the house everyday, and I would pull 8-10 loads per week depending on how the log book and home time worked out.
I left for a local union job. -
Well, its good to see that some companies are reading this site and understand that it affects them. By that I mean that the way they treat drivers gets around the US and Canada and ultimately affects thier hiring process. Most don't care what drivers say or think about them after the drivers leave.

Yup,Oakley in Ar is now off my bucket list!!!

How come? What happened? Please share with the class.

Well according to this thread they're just like any other company, always singing a song you can't dance too. They have a lot of advertisements on sat radio and Internet ,so I looked on here for feedback and found this.
-
Well this thread is actually a mix of both Oakley Transportation (tanker outfit based in Lake Wales, FL), and Oakley Trucking aka Bruce Oakley (bulk end dump, phenumatic, hopper out of Little Rock, Ar))..
-
Yes it is,I was referring to Oakley Ar n my text.
