Do they honestly think that people can stay below the 30% threshold In the summer months?? Opt idle is garbage and they shun you for bringing up an apu in a idle discussion. Smh.

I always idled away and just said ok boss will try. I found that if unplugged my Qualcomm (when parked only) and idled they couldn't see the actual percentage. Not sure if it has changed or not though.

I got away with inactive driver for awhile, might try that. I've only heard if the qc is disconnected in the prostars and alarm goes off.

Not sure, it has been many years since I had answer to an office jockey about idle time. I have gotten to the point where I won't play that game about what temps I should be comfortable in. I can sleep in Wyoming dead of winter with no heat, but can't when it is sunny and 65 outside. That's just me though.

Office jockeys don't really see where a driver is coming from, in the winter I'm fine with or without the bunk heater. But summer time is a whole new ballfield. Sweating and freezing are not an option
luvtotruck Thanks this. -
i don't know why companies are really strict about the idle policy but i will just idle whoever company truck that im driving because im not sleeping in a 110 degree or a 20 below i did idle all company i drove and if one day they talk about it i was just gonna tell them im out since they care about fuel percentage and all kinda stupid thing but they don't care about how comfortable need to be to get a good night sleep, even a dog wouldn't stay in a 20 below why they expect truckers to do it. i will just idle all the time and some of you guys just don't want to get fired because some of you are homeless, living in a company truck lol
