Talk about a partial load!!!! I just did a 730 miles run, that consisted of 2 whole pallets. 1100 lbs. Wonder why it wasn't contracted to a straight truck?

I always wonder if I should use the empty lane at the scales when I am that light. I have never done it since I figure that would be the time they pull me out and I get busted. I run like that from WA to OR a lot to pick up more product on the way to CA and it is cool to see 10.0mpg for that run.

    Panhandle flash Thanks this.

I guess if it was easy everybody would be doing it. Sounds like you are dealing with the typical growing pains. Hopefully you can find your lanes and niche for your truck and it should get easier. At least you took the next step and are doing it.

Finding profitable lanes isn't easy, I find if I go into a dead area I ask for a bigger rate to dh OUT. Not going to take some idiots cheap rate to get out!
