I was merging from I-35 to i-135 a one lane bridge. I saw my mirrors and saw i could make the merge since car was a long way off so next thing i know the car stops and another rig rear ended her. Cops gave me a ticket for not giving the right-a-way. Nothing happened to my trainers truck or trailer. Just got let go by the company. Am i hirable anywhere else? My trainer is devastated as i am, he said i did all i could possibly do in that situation. Im not trying to say it wasnt my fault, it was my fault since she stopped because of me. Any company will hire me?

If the other rig rear-ended that car, did he get sited at all for following to close? Either way, I'd goto court and fight the ticket.
J_FROG Thanks this. -
That's a bummer. Did your trainer have your back? You'll be able to find a job, it's just going to be a bit tougher. Most company's will hire with 1 or 2 tickets on your MVR. I think the thing you have in your favor is that you didn't damage company equipment. Just remember when merging onto a freeway or merging out of an ending lane it is your responsibility to yield even if that mean stopping where you are and waiting for an opening. Best of luck to you.

My trainer does, he was the one talking to cops. The guy with the cattle rig was going way too fast we know for a fact but i dont know if he got cited or not.

If a third truck hit a vehicle behind you and your truck was not hit I don't see how you could be cited unless there is more to the story. If your truck was not hit get a copy of the accident report and get a lawyer. If the car chose to stop that is not your fault. If the other truck was speeding or following too close that was also not your fault. Get a good lawyer and you may be able to get this ticket erased permanently and get your job back.

Are you leaving something out?
Go fight the ticket, it seems that no matter what, if the car stopped and they were not watching the traffic on the ramp, they could be also at fault as the other truck. -
Did anyone else get cited ?

Not sure doglover, i was in shock. I saw everything, how it unfolded to the crash.
Im a trainee. I was driving on the i35 always going 10 below speed limit. (3rd week driving) Needed to merge to i135 where they are in construction and all lanes are close except one. My merging speed limit was 45 but i was going about 30-35 when i checked mirrors and saw that i had enough time and space to merge successfully. I135 also has only one lane open since its in construction and i believe the speed limit is 45 there. So i keep going then checked mirrors again and i see the cadillac driver almost next to me coming to a complete stop and i still checking mirror see the cattle rig slam the breaks and hit the cadillac in the back and sending the car 50 feet forward. I managed to dodge the cadillac by being centimeters from the wall and give her all the space to control the car. The semi came to a stop and with the tip of his bumper scratched our rim. The officer even said that if i didnt get as close to the wall we could've sandwiched her. Ill post pictures of it once i get better connection. -
I agree with the others. Might be worth getting a lawyer to fight the ticket. If anyone should have been cited it should have been the cattle cowboy! Also this is one of many problems with 4 wheelers. They don't pay attention to road signs. If she had been paying attention she would have known that you needed to merge and could have backed off. Cite her for being an idiot

Some of those constructions have a stop sign since only one lane is open for traffic and there is no merging lane....
I would assume that other truck got a ticket as well for following too close. If that car stopped like you said and you didn't have a stop sign i don't see how is that your fault.... Anyway, if everything you said was truth i think you can fight that ticket and win
