My first job was a small six truck flat bed operation. All Pete 359's and one international 9300. All the trucks had thirteens and I had only driven nines and tens in school. Owner hires me and I do the drug test and paperwork on a Friday. I take a week vacation and start on the Monday a week later. He tells me to meet my trainer in the yard at 03:30 as we are taking an oversize into DC. What a way to start. A twenty year old truck with no interior lights to speak of in the total darkness of the early morning with a fogged up windshield and a foreign transmission with an oversize load going into the nation's capital. I did fine and so will you.

How is the training at Armellini? are the trainers any good?....some companies throw you out there with little or no training at all. I have a friend that is looking for a new career and I may recommend Armellini.

Training is great. Just passed my second road test today. Took a load of flowers from Miami to Palm City. You get a week of training in Palm City @ there HQ. First two days are yard stuff like backing & shifting. Third day is city driving around Ft. Pierce. Fourth day is a trip to Okeechobee and then Vero Beach and over to Ft. Pierce and then back to Palm City. The fifth day is your road test to Miami and back with a load. Then the next week you do some classroom stuff for like 3-4 days. Great set up. They also have a simulator which is cool. Training people are excellant!!! They also get you famaliar with log books and the qualcomm. I just finished my first week and go back on Tuesday for round 2. Hope to be teamed up with a team by the end of the first week of August. Will keep ya updated. But yes send him over!!!!

You wouldn't happen to have been at the rotterdam pilot in NY at exit 25A off 90 the other day would ya? I was there fueling up and saw one of your trucks in there. Made me think of this thread lol. Truck was a dark blueish pro star. I like the sticker on the trailer that said "are you tough enough to haul flowers" with a tough guy with big muscles looking character lol
