    The steel supports rust and the plate starts to collapse under all the weight. Anytime you buy a used trailer check the fifth wheel plate thats what the inspection holes r for.

    i hooked onto a tank once. last time i hauled it was 2 months before.

    hauled a load of fuel and came back. mechanics spent a whole day trying to get the trailer released from the truck. wanted to unmount the 5th wheel and install a junk yard POS. i told them no way in heck. that 5th wheel worked fine till that trailer. once they got the trailer released. it was apparent that the kingpin was bent. then the story came out that the trailer had been dropped quite a few times. it had been at the plant for the last 2 months. where the kids had been moving it around. WITHOUT making sure it was locked in. so the trailer comes out and onto the frame. LOADED

    i'm surprised anyone had any brains to lift it up. 6500 gallons X 7 lbs. in the front isn't an easy thing to pick up.
