Hi there. Seeing the accounts that I do, and having assorted menfolk in the trucking industry (and having one of them make another poor choice as to company to work for-sigh) I thought it perhaps would be helpful if we had a section where owner operators could post "net" earnings with the assorted companies that they encounter along the way. Folks could post the miles driven for that earning, the amount spent on fuel, the company's fuel surcharge, and the rate per mile that they got. Break it all down for other folks out there who are looking for better situations, and trying to avoid the bad ones. I think it might be helpful to have the figures. "Gross earnings" always sounds good, but then the harsh reality sets in. Let's be honest, in this blasted industry, there are situations where you walk away with a cheque and realize you would have made more as a Walmart greeter.
