I've been a driver for this great company for 13 years. it's hard work, but it's a job that I enjoy. there is no tolerance for anyone on drugs. they will find out. to answer your question, of course there is a drug test pre employment. if you are using them, don't waste your time or the companies.

There is a huge difference between going to work on drugs, and enjoying a joint after a hard day of work. Also for some people marijuana has been prescribed by a doctor.
Laws are different in Canada than they are in the US, in Canada drivers are not drug tested after every accident, only if there is probable cause.
Most drugs only stay in your system for 48 hours, while marijuana can stay for over two months. So firing people for smoking a joint is just punishment in your mind? What happens when marijuana is legalized, what about states where you are already allowed to drive under the influence of marijuana? http://www.theverge.com/2013/5/25/4...users-can-drive-drugged-rules-michigan-courts
Sysco 294, I don't like the tone of your message. It sounds like you're a prick who doesn't understand proper punctuation or capitalization. Obviously you only have a high school education or a GED, so I will cut you some slack this time.

I am an oil patch driver and I do not do drugs.
Drug testing has promoted the use of alcohol and hard drugs like cocaine, crack, meth, and heroin because those drugs wash out of the user's system very quickly. (water soluble) And there is a lot of drug testing in the oilpatch.
Pot is fat soluble and trace elements are detectable for weeks after use. I would rather work with a guy that smoked a joint two weeks ago on vacation, than work with a guy who is coming down from a weekend of booze and heroin with no sleep...
Guess who fails the drug test ? -
to be honest with you, I have a college degree in business. here's an idea for you-- have your family and friends around a guy that's driving a tractor trailer that has been smoking pot. let's see how comfortable you feel. as far as cutting me some slack, go f##k yourself. or better yet, come down to ny. you pu@@ies that hide behind words are sh#t.
