Got into an argument with my 5th wheel, it won! (suggest you talk nice to them instead)
Ended with big black greasy spot on fabric captains chair.
While cleaning it off I decided to do the whole seat, thought I share a cpl tips.
Start w/ Grease: Don't rub it in dumb arse. Remove all you can w/ out pushing the grease deeper, or spreading the stain. Next get Petroleum Jelly/Vasoline...(insert joke here). starting from edges in, work jelly over stain and blot it with clean rag. Doesn't take much, and result is incredible!
Pop, and coffee: Small spills ad up, and unless they are deep into the cushion, easily removed. The idea is to use the fastest evaporating liquid you can, so don't use water! I'd suggest rubbing alcohol @ 90+%, save the 70% for cleaning your own wounds. (BTW there is medical reason for lesser %) The idea being it will moisten the stain and pull it to the surface while it evaporates, key is to keep blotting the stain with a thirsty rag. Repeat until clean.
Like to read more cleaning tips if you have any!

Good tips, i have white leather seats, and white carpet in truck, tips might come in handy. I hope not as shoes and dirty clothes not allowed in trk. I have used club soda on light dirt stains in the carpet works pretty good.

Excellent tip thank you.Which would have been great awhile back when I tried helping a transam driver free his trk from the trl.I ruined a good pair of my worst jeans, lol.

White vinegar works great for tannin stains (coffee, soda, tea). Baking soda used with the vinegar works even better.
If you run into any specific projects, especially inside the truck, let me know. I spent 20 years in the cleaning industry, so I can probably come up with an idea or two. PM me though, as I won't be subscribing to this thread.TheDude1969 and DLKeur Thank this. -
Wow, I could never drive truck like that. I got no carpet, just rubber floor, Black, with black seats.TheDude1969 Thanks this.

Brake clean or parts cleaner ( same stuff ) works very well at removing any petroleum ( grease ) based mess from cloth or carpet.

Permatex hand cleaner 1st step. Then shampoo. Works for me.
Edit: not hair shampoo, but water and dish detergent. Lather rinse repeat...
I use the attachment on my carpet shampooer to suck the wetness out of the seat.TheDude1969 Thanks this. -
Varsol is a very powerful cleaner for oil or grease stains. Dont get it on your skin tho or it will start to burn in about 30 seconds...
