What is the type or differance between Volvo 3 connector socket vehicle ECU and 6 connector ?

really VECU board got 3 connectors and Volvo, Mack and Renault use the same VECU units

Additional 3 connectors are BBM board. On some Volvo trucks BBM and VECU share one box, on Mack trucks for example BBM is in other smaller box and VECU box smaller too.
