My father is trying to get back into driving after being out of it for 5 years. Does that also apply to him or has it beed too long. He still has his class a and all of the endorsements he can possibly get. Just wondering, everything he has heard leads him to believe that he a very least needs a refresher course. Can you shed some light on this for me?

Tarheel, I called Mav last Monday, recruiter told ne no refresher needed. I've been out of a truck for about 7 years, but have a current CDL. Will have to go through their securement training, and out with a trainer for up to possibly 6 weeks.

As long as the CDL has no lapsed--most companys will have no problems with it--they will just give you a test and go from there. Some of them will put you with a trainer for a short period but no big deal!

Back on angry flatbedders, last time I went to SeverCorr at Golden Triangle, Columbus,MS, this O/O drive by a BUNCH of drivers in line, complaining he was there earlier and they screwed him around and then told him to go around others to door ### whatever. Bad enough, right? WRONG! Once in the building, he gets loaded, goes to crank it up, CLICK/CLICK/CLICK. Anybody got cables:biggrin_25516:

I'm currently in the Specialized Division. Began my orientation on Jan. 6. It has been pretty good. No lies, no complaints. Good training. Everything's straight forward. :yes2557: I'm still waiting for a road trainer, though. I should/hope to have one by the end of this week. I personally like it a lot. Good luck in whatever you choose.

Nice to hear that they are finally starting to get the spec. division up to par. I start classes on the 25th. I am fronting the cost so that way I can go with who ever I decide and I dont have to worry bout a contract. Kangaroo I hope the best for ya and be safe.
