The last two years every major decision Roehl has made has been "anti veteran driver!" Any driver not living near a terminal might be better served somewhere else. Drivers near terminals have more options with Roehl like local jobs, dedicated runs, run through home, etc.

Amongst the many "AVD" decisions are the new pay plan which heavily favors new drivers with zero experience. I had 4+ years with Roehl and was maxed out on my rate. I have my TWIC, hazmat, tanker, doubles/triples endorsements (tankers & doubles/triples do not benefit drivers on the new pay plan at Roehl), stayed out 30-60 days, near perfect record over the 4 years, won numerous driving awards including the service award given to the top 1% of all Roehl drivers and was maxed out on pay under the new plan. I had several conversations with my FM's who took my question; "what can I do to increase my pay rate" to upper level management. Their response? "There's nothing you can do except move from reefer to flat bed (.01 increase) or work here till you retire. I figured over 10 more years I'd increase .02 at most.

Add to that no apu's or converters on trucks, log book eating routing, too many east coast runs, no edit button on elogs and the safety nazis that have totally gone anti driver and I felt forced out. For those of you still there who have dealings with the safety nazis, try to get a look at your "driver diary" that your FM and safety keep on you. See if the story your diary tells is truthful. I found that anytime safety entered anything in the diary it was either shaded to sound worse than it was to outright lies. They are building a case to fire every driver should the need arise. Also most of the positive things I did were not in my diary ( Roehl, if you're reading this my FM did not show me my diary but someone else did). My "service award" was not mentioned in my diary amongst other things.

If safety was building a case to fire ME, given my record there, imagine what they must be doing to drivers having problems? What would happen if something serious went wrong and I needed Roehl to have my back? Not gonna happen based on what I saw in my diary. I felt forced out by pay issues, living/driving conditions and the safety nazis.

Roehl once had a great reputation amongst the driving community. Not anymore. A reputation that took decades to build up took only 2 years to lie in ruins. They'll be decades getting it back should they ever decide to reverse their current course.

I just want to work and make money. That is all. Atleast now, I can work, make money, and be home every night. Plain and simple. (And the pay isn't half bad either :biggrin_25525: )

All that u have said is what the industry is becoming, Roehl is just a little ahead of the curve. Like the sleep study/cpac deal, Werner has started to measure guys necks.....over 18" and you get routed to Dallas, TX. terminal there does the sleep study at no charge.....u pay for the machine if test shows u need one.....Body-mass-index.....etc. all anti vet driver.....and safety will never change.

    Thanks, Pirate Trucker XOXX

To bad the sleep test is a scam. All they care about is money. Making as much as they can and paying as little as possible.
