I was originally a Link America contractor till the hostile merger by Arnold. I can say granted before the take over Link was slowly improving. The former CEO ran it into the ground and is now the CEO of Arnold, Link after many changes was slowly improving. Arnold is just the mirror image of Links former self. Maintance program sucks and most of operations could give jack squat about the driver. Weekend dispatch will lie to you just to get you to take aload and could care less about what you need. Arnold does not pay you 100% of the fuel surcharge if your a contractor if they do its the lowest in the industry. Ive had more issues than i can count with payroll since Useless Xpress (us xpress) controls payroll. My DM does a fairly good job of getting me miles but if i have to get runs over the weekend my miles go to pot. Your best bet as a contractor is to avoid them. If your a company driver stay away. Trucks are junk and most of them are automatics. If you need work done on your company truck you have to make an appointment which means you will be sitting for 2 or 3 days waiting. Not only has the company gotten bad but their hiring practices as well. If your a student there is a good chance your trainer will only have a year of experience so you will not get the proper training. The company has had a bad rash of accidents do to their hiring practices and training program so that means their CSA is climbing. It does not matter if you are new or have years of experience they only start you out at .33 a mile. Do yourself a favor find another company

I am also a former Link America o/o. It is so true what you have said the miles have been cut from2000 - 2500 miles a week to maybe 1600-1800 if your lucky. The weekend and night dispatcher dont care about anything you can be on hold of ever and if someone answers the phone you getuse your people net. This is so much Bull I think they are just trying to run us LinkAmerica drivers out. Most of LinkAmerica account now go on rails do you think thats fair cutting our miles like that.

Have spoke to the higher ups and nothing changes. My next step is out of here.

I dont know where the OP being an O/O gets his info that most of the company truck fleet are automatics, because they arent. Theres very few autos left in the fleet. The new Petes, Internationals, and Freightliners are all manuals. I have no issue as a company driver getting 2500-3000 miles a week. I also make sure my DM has me pre plans to get me thru the weekend. I ignore
the weekend guys and I am usually shut down before night dispatch comes on. If they called I send them to voicemail. They dont bug me after that. Im sorry the OP is having or had issues at Arnold. Theyve never done me wrong and always treat me fairly and like a human. If I have issues at home that need me to get there asap, theyve gotten me there that day. Theyve also called to check on my family and I. I had stuff come up requiring me to stay home and they have been ok with it and checking in on me. Ive had to get scoped and had oral surgery. They have been concerned and seeing how my family and I are doing. I am hoping I am going to get better soon cuz Im going nuts at home Lol. But when that day comes Ill be hopping in a rental car to get a new truck. So I am sorry the owner ops have it bad cuz they are treating me good. I just hope when I move back to OH here in the near future that I can keep my job n truck and DM. If not then I already know where I'll go to work up in OH. Company that runs midwest reefer regional home every week for 2-3 days...have fully decked out trucks with all the comforts you could ask for including an apu and 2000 watt inverter. So either way Ill be ok because they both are good companies whove treated me well.

No disagreement with the OPs assessment. Look at my previous posts regarding Arnold for relevant info. No BS, just brutally honest and tactful as Ted Nugent.
