This is what frustrates me so much about people posting their MPG numbers. First you said you were getting 7.9, now you say the ECM was 7 for the time before you got the truck. Now "it's not as good."
Well, which is it?
My educated guess is that you're barely getting 7, since ECM numbers are usually very optimistic.
Can you even tell what you've gotten in the 3-4 months you've driven it? -
LMAO...and WHICH edumacation might that be dahlin? If you really think your mpg will be the same ON EVERY TRIP,you are in La La land sugar! "Don't start none, won't BE none!
Now if you have ?'s for me ,I'd be happy to school ya friend. -
Average MPG is a running average. Period. For instance, last year I averaged 6.4 MPG. This year, January to end of April, when winter finally quit, it was 5.95 MPG. May to my last fill up was 7.1 MPG.
If course I could just say I get 10 MPG since I actually did get that once this year over a 650 mile stretch. But that would not accurately inform anyone. -
MUCH BETTER...
I can only say what I'm averaging since I purchased this lil cutey.
She's doing pretty good, but it's all the way I drive it. I've had Cats,Cummins both and this is by far the best mpg I've ever had.Today I was WAY O.W and running late,so I was hammered down, but usually I'm the one you give the finger too bc I'm driving like its $4.00 a gallon. Lol

It seems to me that trucks from east of MB often have LP 22.5 and west of MB have 11-22.5. With the same gear ratio it is a difference of 2 MPH @ same RPM or 50 RPM @ same speed. Gearing recommendation for a DD15 is 65 MPH @ 1375. Figure out what speed you want to drive.
Rockport from Moose Jaw has DD 13, 3.55, 13 speeds, and LP 22.5 and their ECM's show 8 MPG / US gallon.
Also, you said reefer or flat. I think that requires two different trucks. I'd get a Mid Roof XT for flats and a Condo for a van or reefer. -
No just "happened" to be pulling a reefer today, but not usually. Their always so doggone heavy!!!
Really does well most of the time, but when your that heavy and hilly roads,s curves in construction zones, can play havoc on your mpg. I can literally watch my $ fly out the window on days like today.
Oh well, whatta ya gonna do? Win some lose some.

I just love baited questions. Only time Women ask questions is when they already know the answer. Just making sure Men are not lying to them. My Freightliner has a Cat, motor, an Eaton/Fuller 15 speed. and 8 tires on the back. There is this big thing on top of the frame, the trailer hooks to.
