I been here a year and three months and have not made any money on a consistent basis. They do have alot of frieght here but the thing is we don't get it. they out source alot of this frieght at a cheaper price and we get stuck sitting at the terminal 3 to 4 days. while sitting that long you see other trucks getting unload and loaded rite back up out of there. They try to keep you around to haul a load by telling you they will take care of you tonight and you will be the first truck to pick your load. No matter which load you pick for sum reason they never have enough freight at the end of the night to load your trailer. They will look out for the drivers that have been here for alot of years and thats fine but don't starve out everyone else. they will hold frieght on the docks for their drivers that run out of that terminal instead of loading you and get you on down the road. there are only to of us left from my orientation class and we both will be leaving here soon. You will go broke here trying to jus haul terminal freight. They have brokers (most of them are jokes) that will try to get you to run for .80 a mile. they figure if you are calling them then you really need a load. This company for the most part will never help you if you have a breakdown of any sorts and sum of the people in our main office is really rude. I see they are running ads saying solo drivers can make $225,000 ayear. You might make that but they will take most of that from you with all the small different fees they charge.

This doesn't surprise me at all. My wife and I used to run team and one of the customers we would pull for was Roadrunner. We would be dispatched to pick up a load on the south side of Atlanta Ga Friday morning. We would check in with dispatch who would routinely tell us the load wouldn't be ready until around 2 or 3 am Saturday morning. We would drop our trailer on the yard, bobtail out to get some food and then return later on to catch a nap while we were waiting. I would check in with dispatch at 2 am Saturday morning only to be told by night dispatch at the window; "oh sorry we cancelled that load, we didnt have enough freight to fill a trailer. You should call your dispatch for something else."
This happened to us several times with Roadrunner. We wound up losing money several times because we got stuck in Atlanta Ga until Monday waiting for another load. Thankfully after this happened several times our carrier stopped using them for loads.

Yep that happens a lot. Atlanta and Dallas is really bad about that. They say first come first serve. I could be there Thursday waiting on a load but one of their terminal drivers could show up Friday and get loaded before me. Unless u wanted to go to New York they had plenty of stuff going there because their drivers didn't want to haul it

I'm now with a smaller company out of Iowa hauling meat. We have 05 08 387 Pete's for lease $475 aweek. 2 year lease no ballon payment and keeps me moving. Finally found a decent company. I now have been here for 7 months

Talked to a couple roadrunner drivers this month and both said they loved it there. One had a dryvan and the other a reefer. Both said the secret was to only use roadrunner a few times a month and rest of the time they book their own

With roadrunner.....the secret is ONLY booking loads with terminals a few times a month.......I live in charlotte and I would book a load out of the terminal then book my own loads through brokers running around for a few weeks. Then come home and rebook with charlotte terminal........don't ever call RR brokers for a load, all they try to do is load you at ANY rate to a terminal city.....I haven't driven for them in almost 6-7 years...best place ive driven besides landstar....
