Did you write in your rate confirmation that detention pay starts 2hrs after an on time arrival and have it signed and agreed to by Coyote???

    Details?

Coyote CAN be a PIA. One of their favorite tricks is if the p/u or delivery appt. does not suit you and you tell them to drop you off the load. They'll say "let me make a call and see if I can change it". They'll call you back and tell you it has been changed to something you can live with. You then call the shipper or receiver to confirm and they will have no clue what you're talking about, nothing has been changed.

It's like what the ref says at the beginning of a boxing match, "Protect yourselves at all times".

Coyote is notorious for that! Always call the shipper/receiver to double check. Get it in writing as well! Send back their confirmation and write in the time that was agreed upon, and get their initial next to it. If they start giving you the run around...then run.
