Good post all the way!
In most careers you can tell a person is or isn't ready easily by the 3rd day, and you're right, SNI obviously thought the kid was ready. They aren't going to increase liability by sending someone who'll lower their ratings, just a thought......

In most cases the newbie is nerves when they have a trainer with them and I myself feel more at comfortable when I dont have someone watching me ..You learn from mistake on your own .

Normally I would not comment on a stupid post like that but as a former driver for Schneider and soon to be again I take offense at that. There are bad bad drivers in all the companies so why single out one? -
When I started, there were no schools or they were rare. You could drive or learned how to quickly by yourself. This country was built on truckers who never went to a school. So, how did they learn to drive? Furthermore, 20-30 years ago, when a driver had trouble somewhere, an older driver would get out and help them...back in, slide tandems, turn around, give them constructive advice. What seems to be lacking in the industry today is consideration and concern for other drivers. Just like the 5 or 6 drivers who sat in there trucks on a 100+ degree day in Dallas and watched this old driver try to slide his tandems...I noticed no one would help so I did. This is how self-centered many drivers are today. Instead if getting on the CB and making fun of a new driver, why not get out and offer help?
Also, if Schneider lets a driver go after 3 OTR days, maybe they felt confident about him/her. Personally, I would think the driver would be relieved that there is not a trainer beside him/her for once. The best way to learn is to have to do something alone at times. I don't work for Schneider, but they are by far a cut above the rest of the megas.Last edited: Aug 4, 2013
