Gee that's a real mess IMHO. If you can't put that load hose on the trailer I would buy a slinky hose. If not, put a 90 at the pump pointing up or towards the fender and coil a hose on the deck and secure it to a mounted cap/plug on the fender. That hose will mess up the fuel tank pretty quick and you won't get through Whitecourt or some others too many times like that. Jerry can needs to go as well. I would also invest in locking Goodyear camlocks.

Best rig up I had included a heated step box with the pump inside it. Right there between the tank and fender. I don't have a pic. If you've been running in a lot of deep snow those coolers will fill with snow and prevent the fan from turning. Even in the winter they will overheat quickly. You need to stick a screwdriver into the fan a help it get going. Another thing about those coolers is that the cap has to seal very tightly or it won't work for some reason, needs pressure I guess? (edit) No, not that cooler, but they're out there

A flat landers hyd pump...... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374784730.852566.jpg

Suction is the top, discharge on the bottom. Can discharge on either side of the truck. No hoses hanging around and all connections can be made from the ground........ ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374784937.818682.jpg

Also have 2 line wet line, Can run live floor or flow boy trailers. Or propane trailers where pump is mounted on trailer. Just pull the lever on the frame rail to select product pump, or trailer hyd lines or bypass oil around the tractor. Use this to warm oil on very cold days. I agree, MESSY!!! Throw a couple slinkys on and a hose tray. Would make your life a whole lot easier. Scratching up the fuel tank and the back of your bunk!! Ugh brutal!!

That looks like a wab job... Up in Wabasca they use 3" hoses and have far containment so everyone uses 30' 3" load hoses, not much use for a tray at that point. The vac hoses take more abuse which is needed up there but are harder to pile on your truck.

This isn't a sask crude pump.. AB. A salesguy gave me these pictures, thinks I should get. 23 and a half bones. I'd have the cooler where the large tank is on the back of the cab.

That is a pretty setup but I think that is all that is going for it.
Off the top of my head I don't like the containment. The pump will leak and mud will get in and that box will be a ##### to get the mud out of. The pump will need repairs and rebuilds and in such a cramped position the whole pump will need to get pulled out instead of just dropping the end caps. And the pump being bolted to the side concerns me. Most pumps are secured to solid beams under the truck to minimize vibration.

I think that 90 is going to slow it down too. You already have one to go to the trailer the other is just going to slow it down for no gain.

Make sure you get a large tank, the dinky ones they put on some trucks are useless if you ever need to patch your lines to a trailer with a big pump or run and end dump for whatever reason.

Is 23 include the Chelsea and hydro pump as well? What fluid pump are you leaning to? T&e is common in ab trucks but rds/roper or the new bowie's might be more affordable and much better suited to pumping sw than a t&e.

Thanks for your comments. 23 includes the whole deal the chealsea, PTO, hydro cooler, hyraulic pump, T&E, pressure tested. It also includes the bracket for the cooler which connects to all the lines/glad hands and a bracket for a extinguisher. The one side of my truck has a pretty big clearance between the fuel tanks and fenders. I don't have enough room on the back of my truck to put the box up there. The one side of the box bolts off for rebuilds and cleaning it out. That isn't my truck in the picture. I'd prefer a 45 degree hookup but then it will stick out the side of my truck. I'm not too happy about the pump being on its side either.

I'll inquire about the bigger tank tomorrow and the vibratrion of the pump/bolting to something more secure. I like the setup cat sdp posted - that looks like a great secure setup.

    Cat sdp Thanks this.

I don't like that 90 either, mine had a straight camlock and I just used a pail for hook up. The box is too small. It's pretty nice.

Wabash Mfg builds are the best.

I undecided whether a heated box or coolant lines are better for keeping the pump warm. Thats just in case Im doing water in the winter. The pump box on the back of the tank takes up alot of room, and I dont know if there will be a whole lot of room left on a trailer with the pin set back. I know the way the cooler is mounted in the back its not going to save a lot of space anyways. One upside of having the box behind the cab like that is that I could put a few fittings in the box-those Macks dont have a whole lot of storage space (and I wondering how I can rig up to get more and use set back trailers). I had the pump-in-the-box-behind-the-cab-setup before, I always lost prime it was a pia.

Heater hose is best, those fans always fail. Unless you expect to haul very hot fluid I would buy a rubber geared pump, a big bowie sealed bearing pump.
