got to shipper few hours early not knowing how bad the traffic would be and see if i can get loaded early. parked in front of shipper and walked up to dock to see what to do. said to go into next dock that opens. meantime couple of trucks went around me and now i have to wait for them. guess this place doesn't go by appt.times. since i can get to dock early. not now lol

I bobtailed to Denver to do a class I need done at 1pm, couple drivers said freight is slow right now because miller has been shut down for cleaning for a couple days. I was being offered several loads in Pueblo but I cant get on safety hold so have to do this class today, last day before hold is friday.
I hope once I set pta I get something at least by morning, if I get something tonight at least enough time where I can drive a few hours and sleep before taking it the rest of the way.

    yeah always hot there lol
only 71 right now here in Golden, CO im parked on Mcentire st next to miller, they sent me bobtailed to a walmart dc in Wyoming to pick up an empty and take it back to miller, I had 5 hours left and called up the DM saying I wasnt sure if I should accept the load since time is tight "oh you have plenty of time only 2 hours each way" after a hour of rush hour 5:30 traffic and accidents....
Got to miller with 9 min left on my time, by the time I was done with security 3min, took me freaking 19min to back the trailer in, that #### spot was tight. Ended up in violation of course, ohwell if they say something I will point out I wasnt sure on the time. Either way was an easy 220 mile run to finish up my hours.

In violation of what? Your 14? Or your 11? s soon as you got to Miller you should have switched to on duty, you can work as much over your 14 as long as you don't drive until you have taken a 10 hr break. You can be on duty 24 hours and not be in violation if you don't go to the drive line.

Are you manually putting yourself on the drive line? Don't ever do that! Let the Q/C do that itself. If you are slow and don't go very far it will stay in on duty or even off duty until you start going through the gears or get up to speed.

I swap trailers with a guy every night who takes his 30 minute break while going from our swap location to the Loves about half a mile away. He stops there. sets the brake, goes inside, drives back the half mile, and never strays from off duty.

was the 14, started my 14 when I went to the denver terminal and was off duty for 6 hours when they sent the load but couldnt hold for the 8 hour split

I was on duty at the shipper, put myself off duty when the trailer was disconnected then bobtailed out.

Like I said then, you didn't get a violation unless the Q/C put you on the drive line. Make sure you get a full 10 from the time you went off duty.
