Rob, I haven't heard anything yet. It has only been 5 days. I did log in to the background check site for Walmart and it still shows "In Process". The HR lady here said it may take up to 2 weeks. Patiently waiting. :)

This is a screen shot of what is showing right now for me on the Walmart Associate Background Screening System. The other item that has already been verified is my Social Security name and number. Just waiting on the criminal background check.

Your screen shot didn't work. I gather because there may be sensative info on it. Don't worry Tom, things will happen soon. Patience is required here.:biggrin_25515:

It looks like any image that gets attached seems to disappear later. It was showing after I attached the image to my post. Jim had the same problem. It was just a screenshot JPG file showing my background check status as "In Process". :)

Yes it's true but one thing u have to remember if their is an applicant with 2 or 3 million miles their not going to consider you, when I started with Walmart I had 3.4 million miles and they look at that first and then your driving record, and how long you've been in your present job very important you keep your current job for a long period.

So I started my week off good. Got a truck all week for a second time. Dropped at a store by my house then ran a claims load. For there got a grocery load two stop to the valley. Interesting enough, got a third party vendor load on a third party trailer coming out of the valley going to DFW area. Nothing like over 1000 miles in two days to start the week right.

Hey Jim, how about an update!

Here's my update...I'm tired. Finally got over my stupid cold for the most part. Running my tail off. Got the hang of the computer and paperwork, and already figured out that the rock smokes some good stuff, and also how to get out of stuff that makes no sense LOL. I've been having ups and downs emotionally, guess that's normal. Was stunned at my takehome for my orientation and training weeks...can't wait to see a FULL check! I couldn't believe how much it was after taxes. Overall, it's not hard, the hardest part is being away from the family when I was used to being home every day. Guess I'll get used to that (and the paychecks!). Off for layover after a shower. I got a truck all weft too, going home tomorrow.

    Jim,

Glad to see you are feeling better. :)

I can relate to how you are feeling being away from home after being home every day. That will be the one area I do not know for sure how my wife and kids will handle in the short term because my family is used to me being home each night as well. Most nights my kids (5 year old son and 3 year daughter) will not go to sleep until I arrive home, usually about 10pm at night. I do anticipate using things like Skype on my iPad to have video calls with my kids if needed. I will have to keep telling myself that the benefit of the job long term will be worth it for my family as a whole. I am speaking both mentally and financially.

I am still waiting on the last step to be finalized. I passed the DOT physical and drug screen. Still waiting for the background check to come back. It could happen by the end of this coming week.

Matt, that is a good start to the week! Certainly different than hanging around the Houston area. Having the truck all week is great! :)

Was it more than expected or less? Since I haven't reached the step of scheduling a date for orientation yet, I had not even asked about compensation for the time in orientation and with a mentor. I am still wondering why it is important that the orientation start at the beginning of a 2 week pay cycle. :)
