There are two types of 'pulling a Manhattan'. There's 'pulling a regular Manhattan' and 'pulling a reverse Manhattan'. Catching my drift ? Simple translation: Pulling a Manhattan you simply have to keep edging out of where you're at to get into traffic, or you'll be where you're at forever. Pulling a reverse is the art of backing thru traffic, without a spotter, to get into a dock, alley ... whatever. Here's how to do it: You keep backing across traffic until you get to where you need to be. Accident ? You're fault ? Probably. Here's how to get across backwards legally (I have this on good authority of an NYPD DOT Traffic Sgt). Always keep 3 or 4 orange cones with you. The collapsible ones work well and are nicely compact. Back up a bit, stop, and put out a cone by the back corner of your trailer. Back up a few more feet and repeat the process. Repeat, repeat, etc. I did this on 3rd Ave once at 8pm. I got across 3 lanes that way until people finally got the message and I slid over the last 2 lanes no problem. It only took 10 minutes and not one horn blown !!rpcrown Thanks this.

The problem is,,, Yugo has been out of business for 20 years now. The supply has dried up. Some civil engineers tried substituting Geos, but they are also getting scarce. The fact is you just can't find a decent compact car to fill a pot hole anymore.
(Although I heard Caltech was doing some studies on Smarts)

No trucks allowed on parkways with a river in it's name-Bronx River , Saw Mill River, Hutchinson River, not even vans unless you have a window in the side .

Anyone happen to know if trucks are allowed on the 59th st bridge coming from manhattan? Been getting a run lately that goes from the post office on 10th ave to JFK and I'm trying to find better/other ways.
The way I mapped it out was 10th ave up to I belive 57th st follow that down to 3rd ave, up to the 59th st bridge then it looks like that turns into 25/queens blvd and that leads to the LIE or the van wyke depending on how far I follow it. -
Yes BUT LOWER DECK ONLY!!
Then folo Queens Blvd--bout 4 lites(don't quote me)rite as Blvd starts to curve to left(past Northern Blvd)Look for
Van #### st--can only turn rite--495 LIE bout 1/2 mile ahead--under bridge 1st left service road folo signs to 495 East
service rd splits onelane is 278 into bklyn other 495--happy motorin
