Marklee, are ya'll hiring from the MS Gulf Coast area? What kind of equipment ya'll run? Some good details would be great. Thanks.

 

Btc told me they didn't hire south of i20 in ms back in march when I applied what school are you in kilo35

For what it's worth-next to nothing-still..it is RARE I run into an unhappy Melton Driver..At least the one's I talk to..

 

I went to tdi in saucier in was very expensive I already had my class a but no otr experience companies told me with no experience I need school background as bumpy said I didn't hear any bad about Melton me myself I'm running for mclane foodservice grand a week weekend's off

 

Yeah, BTC has suspended its student program for now but might start back up in the future...As far as MS goes, the hiring cutoff for the south is I-20 I think. You might want to check with recruiting to see if that has changed.

 

Oh yeah, we do still hire experienced drivers such as van drivers and such to train them on flatbed. I had this one guy on my truck that had driven van for 22 years and decided to switch over to flatbed...he absolutely loves it...says that he wishes he'd made the move years ago.

 

When yal get a load does btc send you directions? Or do you have to call the shipper/con?

 

Yes BTC provides routing information as well as "turn by turn" directions once you get inside the zip code that your destination is in. The routing that our company provides is, more or less, the preferred route that the company would like for you to take...more like guidelines. You are still free to plan you own trip. The drivers at BTC are not micromanaged as far as trip planning goes. You are responsible for planning your own routes just as long as the route you take doesn't deviate too for from ours.
