Enough tanker experience?

Look at Franz Bakery Union Job and you can stay in Western Washington also you can look into ABF in Seattle. Right before I moved to Texas; the guy who was shipping our U-Pack Tubes said after you got two years experience you can get on with ABF at 70K he doesn't do over the road either; he drops and pick up the tubes and takes them to the doc terminal.

 

I think you can find a fuel tanker job right now in Seattle paying at least $50k plus benes, better look harder, I know Harris, KAG, L&E, Superior are all hiring right now.

 

50K in Seattle doesn't go to far! I would definitely keep an eye on making 70K+. I would need that to come back there; even though I make 60K here in Amarillo TX. The cost of living is 25 - 30% higher. Housing is 100% higher

 

Your looking in the right area ma man. Ive heard nothing but that available in that Area. Amarillo TX south of Pampa where we stay is a small city in the middle of making it a big hub.

Though; there isn't much to do around here. You can travel 4-9 hours to get to the major hubs. Though its in all directions lol. You got Denver to the North Dallas and Oklahoma City to the East and South San Antonio and West Albuquerque NM.

If I can get a $25 an Hour Job With Regular OT available I would move back home to Seattle. I'm going to look into it when I get 2 years under my belt. Which is fast approaching. If you find something in San Antonio let me know also; I wouldn't mind getting close to Austin TX; its a Mini Seattle lol. I know lots of people who moved from Seattle down there over the past 6 Years.

 

Austin is a cool city!
When we were planning our relocation, the past few months, we used Redfin website. It seems to be kept up to date more than others such as Zillow. Spent hours on the internet; Redfin, Google, city-data, etc.
Try to match quality of schools, home prices, zip codes, jobs and all is tough and time consuming, but it can sure pay off for the family and prevent some costly mistakes and buyers remorse. Also, Careerbuilder website is good for available local jobs.
