turning off EGR valve.

I have been at a volvo dealer now for 13 years and have heard this more than once.. I have yet to hear of ecu programming that will elimate egr on a 12D unless you start swappping ECU's from Volvo Penta. What I have seen is fully funcional, egr valves connected to the ecu in a box bolted to the frame rail. Clear of anything that will damage them. In their place on the manifold are `dummy`valves fixed in the 100% closed position (or a manifold from a D12C which may be more difficult to explain to authorities if questioned). As there is no EGR flow sensor on the 12D, there are no codes. At all! Owners boast about MPG`s from the D12C days.

i had my ECM flashed, They can turn off the EGR's from cycling, From what I understood from the technician there are hundreds and hundreds fuel tables. The fuel tables are Attach to EGR tables, air pressure, altitude, oil pressure, coolent Temperature etc. etc. What they can do is, when you start your engine it will cycle once then close and stay close until you turn off your Engine.

Had it done about three months ago picked up about a mile and a half fuel economy, Only time they cycle is when the truck is sitting in park for more than 10 minutes I can hear the EGR valves cycleing some times, by the tone of the Exhaust
