I guess never say never. At this point I seem not be able to make up my mind and like I said before the places I was interested in did not even respond back. Seems like I have to many questions I can't find the answers for. Right now I am almost running as an O/O. I have no support from the office and get all my stuff directly from the broker. I left Tuesday and nobody has yet checked on me from my company. I picked up a frozen load and delivered it to San Bernadino and now I am on my way back to WA with three picks and delivery on Monday. I will go to the yard after delivering turn in my paperwork and get a paycheck and head home until they have another run. I guess no micromanaging at my job.:biggrin_255:

Got to laughing so hard today, I almost wrecked my truck. Came up on a truck, that on the back, had these words, "Slow churned, rich and creamy". When I came up to the side of the truck and saw ice cream, just started laughing harder. Ice cream is NOT where my mind went!!!! lol

the mercer freight is doing just fine, don't know where ya been reading . if ya know what youre doing , know where to take loads to and where not to go, that's the trick.

myself , I would cut off a leg before taking a flat to Amarillo, sometimes you have to learn that a 1.90 a mile load to the truck to a good reload area beats the heck out of a 2.25 a mile load to nowhere.

and snowy, you can broker loads from mercer , same as you can broker loads from a loadboard.

i got more then 1.90 to go nowhere. all my other options were to take 1.50 to go nowhere. and less then that if i wanted to go somewhere.

so knock down amarillo all you want. cuz my only other option would be just go home and WAIT WAIT WAIT. cuz out here on the west. it hasn't been funny since the hos kicked in. and i'm not kidding.

soon as i can find something else to do with this truck. like pulling someones tank. the trailer will either get parked or go back to the company. cuz there isin't ANYONE making a living on this side of the country.

heck snowwy I'm makin a living on the west side of the country and maybe its because im a company driver but the HOS rules have not effected me that much honestly... I don't care the the 1/2 hour break on days that im just driving but hey you learn to adjust. but I do agree that I would give anything to be pulling a tank

Heard 2 mercer guys talking about a week ago and they were both talking about leaving, they didn't consider $2 a mile that great!

look at it this way, they either are up to their eyes in debt, or don't know what they are doing. that 2 mile a mile you heard a mercer driver quote, that's to the truck after everyone else's cut, that wasn't a gross of the load, then consider we get 30 to 40 cents a gallon fuel discount, mercer pays any ifta taxes, and we get paid within hours of scanning the bills, let me ask ya this, would 2.00 a mile to the truck , plus 30 to 40 cents a gallon fuel discount , ifta fully paid, equipment sold to you at cost in the company store, paid within a few hours of scanning bills, work for your operation?? you got to understand jess ju-ju ya heard 2 yahoos out of 2100 talking, not really a good slice to judge the pie by.

    jess-juju Thanks this.

and from another perspective, yesterday at petro Bordentown,nj 4 of us mercers in the restaurant talking and we all loved it, 2 of us have been here almost three years, one for 19 years and one for 10 years, all stuck here for the weekend in nj and not a complaint in the bunch. of course all of us are in our 50's to 60's and been driving for 30 + years each.

and by the way, what do you consider a decent rate to the truck after everyones elses cut
