1.These Dollar General accounts are ALWAYS available and I'm told by SNI that I can average 51, 500 yearly with Load Pay, Stop pay and cents per mile...A werner driver told me HE makes 600 a week AFTER TAXES!! A Person at SNI DG account in Bessemer, AL says all of the drivers are average "right at" 1,000 weekly!! WHAT IS THE TRUTH??? I have an offer to deliver beverages LOCALLY for 600 a week also...CAN ANYONE SHED LIGHT ON THESE TYPE ACCOUNTS???

    2. BACK BREAKING WORK: I've been told that these are back breaking accounts but I helped a trucker unload today and the most frustrating part was how the goods were thrown in the trailer any kinda way...But it appears that it a matter of pushing preloaded karts and re stacking the boxes that fall off...Im not considering this back breaking but does ANYONE have any light to shed on this?

    3. I need experience to get better Local jobs in a big rig...Will Beverage delivery jobs give me that experience if occasionally driving a Class a vehicle locally? THANKS

    Chinatown Thanks this.

    Wait.

Family Dollar and Dollar General company drivers are delivery drivers, they unload at the stores, but not at their own DCs.

Werner drivers don't unload at the DCs and they don't deliver to stores..

Two very different types of drivers and jobs.

I talked to a driver last week who was doing Dollar General for a major trucking company. He said they begged him to do it for $1400/wk and he finally relented and went on the account. Did a great job, got his loads delivered, all unload by himself without help from DG employees. On time, etc... After three weeks of doing a great job he got a call saying it was too much money, could he do it for $800 ? What a joke. And they wonder why they can't keep routes covered.

Now last weekend I watched and spoke with a Werner Driver as he was removing carts from his 48 ft truck and wheeling them into the Dollar General store 2 miles from my home. It took him over an hour to unload...Now, Unless they stopped delivering since last weekend thats what I saw....

i talked with an o/o who does dollar general for Swift, he said he gets $1600 a week and works 2 days and it takes him 4 hours to unload each stop he said. He said money is great and great home time with his family but its back busting labor and he said not everyone can handle it. Thats why they always need drivers and pay more for the routes.
$1600 is before his expenses I should add, he said he still makes over $1k a week.

Does Werner still have the DG & Family Dollar account because I live in Eastern North Carolina. And I haven't seen their trucks in such a long time. Just being curious

I know Swift has a lot of them but it varies in areas probably, like Walmart dedicated, you see Swift having some routes and you see CRE with some of the others etc.
