I wired up a 12volt plug right to the power wire that goes to the fuse panel and used a 30 amp breaker.

This makes the lunchbox oven work very well. The stock 15 amp fuse often fails since the stove draws a stated 20 A.

I just ordered this fridge to replace my Coleman iceless cooler.

Anyone have any experience with it?

Nope. You could buy a new Malwart special every year, throw the old one out, and not spend that much money.

True, but I haven't found any at Sprawl-Mart that will fit in the space that I have available and operate on 12V. Plus, one of those WM specials would kill my batteries in 12 hours running on the inverter. The one that I ordered would take several days to deplete the batteries in the truck.

I have a couple of similar ones, a large Engels & a smaller wabco. I also have an Igloo thermoelectric in the junk pile. The amount you save on meals will pay for itself in a short time. I had my engels in the truck for 5+ years along with a microwave & inverter. Total cost around $800. At a weekly savings of about $75, & the increased efficiency of not being a slave to overcrowded truck facilities its a no-brainer. Have a meal while loading or unloading, or waiting for whatever reason, or just pull into a rest area, closed scale, wide spot, whatever & you're done in less than half the time. And having a real refrigerator beats those flaky thermoelectrics.

You need better batteries. Not my experience at all.

That's a nice site to browse; lots of neat stuff. Unfortunately, the truck only has space for a 15" wide fridge and that one is 17.5" wide. I was considering an Engel, but I ultimately decided on the ARB because of the temp display.
