egr pipe

    the # 2 egr valve pipe broke 2 times in 3 weeks.The egr valve is working well.Any idea what is wrong?

    yep, we had some cracked pipes on D12D and we just replaced them with new and truck kept running. I suggest problem is that pipe is secured hard with short lenth and thermal stress makes it crack. welding is useless. The only good way to solve this problem I saw was welded in flex pipe from local muffler shop) LOL

    Is it an alignment issue? Egr valve mounting has a roll pin that mates up to a hole in the exhaust manifold. If the pin is not present or the hole is oblonged it will be out of position for proper mounting and will crack. I am going to assume that the EGR cooler is properly mounted as EGR 1 pipe is having no issue.
