In a 4 wheeler yes. In the truck it's 50/50 depending on if I went in a scale. I've never seen an actual crash test study on class 8 trucks that proves their effectiveness. In fact, besides Volvo, driver survivability isn't something manufacturers put R&D money into.

I always wear one. I also used to be a first responder and seen what happens when you don't wear one. I wasn't that fond of picking people up off the road after they got thrown out of a vehicle and don't want anyone to have to go thru that picking me up off the road.

Not sure what being a hero has to do with anuthing....

I used to wear one but I wasn't when I wrote off my KW and thank god or Allah or whatever!

Now its my personal choice, just like if I want to smoke 4 packs a day or go skydiving. But just like outlawing smoking, it would be a huge financial loss to local gov'ts if they allowed adults to decide.

And just to demonstrate how stupid this law is.... In Sask we get demerit points with every seatbelt violation but no demerit points with speeding tix!

I always wear mine. I hated it when they started mandating them in Alberta, but I've gotten used to them.

Always. Otherwise I feel like I left the house with my shoes untied or something. :)

I told my husband that I want to replace the seat belt in my car with an orange one like he has in his truck. That way the local cops will have no trouble seeing that I'm wearing my seat belt. LOL

Yes it is. Some people would have died had they been wearing one and some people likely would have died if they weren't so, your right, whether or not to wear one is kinda like Russian roulette.

CbarM and Prairie Boy Thank this.

so is sky diving, scuba diving, flying a plane, riding a bike, walking the dog and a ton of other things we do daily in life.

Maybe we should all run around in kevlar/nomex bubble suits and hockey helmets.
