man i just posted a venting post JUST LIKE YOURS!!!!!!!! i actually took my first road test interviewing !!! #### did i look DUMB!...my story starts as ...i am a NAVY SEABEE !!! don't know what one is , google it ! the best damb construction man in the military ! since 1942 !!!who...raa ,well i my first car/truck was stick shift. but i have been driving tractor trailers that have been auto's for the last 5-6 years we had a number of cab overs i put many miles on them also. 1986 COE frieghtliners (9 speeds) but when i did the road test for a part time job i failed like a guy that never drove a tractor -ever-loser type! he hit me on a curb but i was in a 48 footer(and a 300in. tractor and when i turned i was allready in the "on-comming" traffic's lane so any further i would have been in a huge no red zone! -hell the OK drivers cdl manual says do not coss the divider when truning so it was a ###### if you do and ###### if you don't ----i only hit the curb with one tire but he was looking for something at that time !----
my advice don't worrie about it because when you worrie about it you are only setting your self up for failure NEXT TIME.-arick
I screwed up

just relax and take charge of the situation. get out there and do it like you know you can , get your cdl and make a few dollars for that family depending on you. i'd wish you good luck but you don't need it. -
when I took my road test for KAT we had to cross a railroadtrack in town,it didn't look like it was used anyway about 50 ft from it I missed the downshift,of course I stopped at the track, but I said well you blowed this test, but the tester said keep practing that shift,he knew I hadn't driven a super 10 before,so I got lucky and passed the test,so stay with it,anybody can miss a gear, anytime, the trick is stay withit like you know what you are doingm, good luck.

My husband and I start school on Monday. In our state, you have to book your tests 30 days in advance. We graduate on 3/6 so our school has booked us each 2 tests....the first on 3/6 and the second on 3/7. (just in case we flunk the first try) We're pre-hired already and need to be on a plane on 3/9 to fly to orientation. No pressure here!!
