For all my former and current May peeps who aren't on my Facebook friend's list, I made an announcement the other day about a change of duty status.

Next week is my last week on the road at T&S. I'm not leaving, just changing from a truck seat to an office seat. I'm going to learn the business from the inside out now.

No, I'm not going to wear a tie either! More like Birkenstocks and a tie-dye tee-shirt ;-)

Most who know me are aware that moving into management on some level has been a goal of mine since I entered into this vocation over 4 years ago as a newbie.

I recently had an offer to go back into construction, however, I turned it down. The trucking industry is where I plan to finish out my vocational career, I really like this industry...a lot!

I'm excited and ready for a new challenge.

    Sure you won't miss driving?
I had a desk job before being a driver and I sure don't miss it al all.
    Good luck with it!

I like driving. However, where I'm heading requires this next phase. Besides, I'm a total numbers geek and office kind of guy ;-)

One week of office training in the hopper. It was an interesting week indeed. I gained a new appreciation of just how hard the folks work in the office, from the top all the way down.

As a driver, I really didn't know just how much the folks who work in logistics and dispatching are under the gun (constantly) trying to keep the fleet rolling.

Looking forward to the weekend off at home with the family and recharging my batteries so I can do it all over again next week ;-)

Driver Facilitator. Not completely sure how that will work itself out in the scheme of things.

So what exactly is a Driver Facilitator?

My 2 cents: May would save themselves a lot of money and hassle if they would communicate better.
Communication at the company is underwhelming; both from the company to drivers, but, more importantly, within the company. It's as though nobody there has ever worked anywhere else.
