I belong to alot of other forums and they don't have any such rule but I have to admit that I don't understand anything that has to do with spammers or what they do and why. I just know that nobody like them.

This forum is easy compared to say some of the political blogs. Some of want you to register when their sites allow you to register at certain times, no hot mail or gmail accounts and a note from your mom too:biggrin_25517:

I just started a couple off weeks ago here and your post do add up. If you need to talk to someone make sure your email is available.

Thanks to the members that answered the question. Spammers is the right answer as well as problems from recruiters, the site owner found out that neither one are very likely to hang around to reach 50 posts. It does suck, but 50 posts comes sooner than you think, and you can always PM any site staff and ask them to pass on a message for you.

YES AGREED! I do this all the time for members who are trying to reach LogsRus or any other member that they need advice from.

Thanks gal! Its always nice to be appreciated. We try our best to keep this board clean of the annoyances. The system in place seems to work pretty well.

Plus, you have to get up pretty early in the morning to pull one over on Cybergal! :yes2557: She's a machine, when it comes to spotting the problem members. :biggrin_255:

For what it's worth, the Mods don't love the rule either, but we have to do the best we can and this is the way that we came up with to keep spammers away without causing bigger hassles for the members. Unlike NASCAR, we don't make rules just for the pure fun of making rules, and if a rule doesn't work, we are always happy to revisit the issue and try something else. We also try to make the board able to run while none of us are here, since all of us hold full time jobs in the industry and have to make our eating money as well.

The 50 post rule does work, and we all are happy to act as a forwarding service until a member reaches that point. It's a compromise, but it's the best one we could come up with.

If someone PMs you and you cannot reply yet, just post it on the thread they saw your post on that they PMd you about, tell them you can't respond and they may send you their email addy via PM or you can always, as stated above, ask one of the mods to send on a message for you.

    :)

    Yep...
I dint like the rule either, But as I spent time here reading posts I noticed the fight to keep Recruiters out, and I understand the rule.
As they say, the 50 will come quick, and if it is super important, the Mods and admins are pretty nice. They will more than likely help you out.
Stick with it you will get to 50 soon.

I'm more of a reader than a poster on this wonderful forum. If I read something a member posted and I want to ask them a question privately I can not since I don't have 50 posts. Instead of posting w-horing to get 50 posts, I just want to be able to PM other members before having to post 50 times on here. :biggrin_25513: There's a member I want to ask questions about the company they work for because I'm decieding to work for that same company they're working for and I can't. That's all.
