once in a million practical miles will get you more miles .....

with my old company i always used to compare how many miles i was paid to the real miles driven. and it could go up to 100 miles different!! for exemple. they have a terminal in the others side of the city of el paso TX, at the border line with another city and they count this 38 miles less already than what i had on google. practical miles is bulls***

It's the center of a wheel. "Hub Miles" is just another way of saying the actual miles that the truck traveled.

But surely 25 miles in Atlanta would be a different zip code. WHY AREN'T THEY PULLING UP THEIR PC MILER AND RECOMPUTING? You're suppose to be paid every mile driven from the point you were DISPATCHED, right?

What if I decide to drive 50 miles out of route to see and old friend, should I get paid for that?? Thats what a lot of companies are trying to CYA over. A good company, will pay you for the right mileage, for what you did. With my present company, I'm usually paid, within 10 miles, of my odometer.

No. You weren't dispatched to go see your old friend. By 'dispatched' I mean giving you a load assignment that follows their route, not just permission to veer off the beaten path.

They pay the gas to go see your friend? That's a pretty good perk.
