Hello everybody,
im stuck between a few companies. Central, Pam, C.R England, PRIME. I have been leaning towards PRIME but am not to sure. Being a Vet and being deployed 3 times i dont want to be away to much but can handle two weeks at a time. DO you all have any recommendations?
Thanks,

I started out with Prime. During their training time, don't expect to be home more than once (maybe twice) per month. And plan on training being at least 4 months. Once you get out on your own, you may be able to make it home every two weeks, depending on where you live (if you're right off a major interstate you have a better chance of getting home as opposed to if you live in the middle of nowhere).
I can't speak for any of the other companies from personal experience.
Hope that helps, and by the way, welcome home, Vet.

As I'm sure you know, there's a major GM plant just up the road from you at Springhill. What I'd be looking for is a company that hauls auto parts and, ideally, one that has a dedicated lane between Springhill and ????. I think PAM does some auto parts hauling so that might work but call to find out.
Since I've never encountered a staff sargeant who wasn't the embodiment of patience, sunshine & light, I'd stay away from the reefer companies if I were you. The Army didn't invent 'hurry up & wait'; food warehouses did. -
Prime has the Walmart account near you in shelbyville, tn. If your not on something dedicated like that, prime is not the company for home time.

will Prime force you to lease, I mean not when u r still training but maybe a year later solo? Will I make money then as a company driver? I don't see any prime driver here who is not a l/O. I am thinking going with Prime.

NO, If any one at Prime every puts any sort of pressure on you to Lease you need to talk to you FM or his Boss ASAP and let them know what is going on. Also after training you will be paid .42 cpm if you are in a Light Weight truck, most company drivers are in a Light Weight. You will run between 2000-2500 miles a week in the beginning, Later you will run more if you let your FM know you want more miles, you will probably average 2400 miles a week. Please you will be paid a full bonus on every mile you run over 7.25 MPG. So you can do the math.76cb550 Thanks this.

Here would be ideal if you can get on with them; Armor(maybe Armour) in Mt. Pleasant. It's a tanker company that hauls mainly waste water out of the chemical plant in Mt. Pleasant, to points in Texas and the Southeast. After unloading the waste water, you usually deadhead back to Mt. Pleasant. I would walk-in their office and talk to them personally vs. a phone call. It's easy to say "no" on a telephone. Let them take a look at you in person.
If they want experience first, then try R.E. West in Lebanon. This company will train you and give you experience with no contract for "X" amount of time afterward. Their big account is hauling hot water heaters out of Ashland City. After you get a few months experience with R.E.West, then go to Armor, if that's what it takes.
This is just my idea. Best wishes. -
Yes, I forgot about that Prime account in Shelbyville.

That walmart account is only for company drivers and I heard most get home weekly since its a dedicated account with walmart. Call the recruiting department about that dedicated run. But the longest time you be out is when you training to get the cdl and the tnt phase.
